Kristin Casey

Hi all! My name is Kristin Casey and I am a second year MBA student at LSU. Not sure where to say I am from, I say I am half Louisianian and half Texan. I was born in New Orleans and raised an LSU tiger, and though my family moved around a good bit, LSU was always in my blood. I moved to Highland Village, TX (outside of Dallas) in the middle of my freshman year of high school and finished my high school years at Marcus High School before beginning my undergraduate career at LSU. During undergrad, I spent most of my time attending LSU sporting events and being an active member of Kappa Alpha Theta. I graduated from LSU with a BS in Marketing in 2007, after which I spent a year working as an Account Executive selling ads on Eagle 98.1 and 104 the X for Guaranty Broadcasting. Last fall, I entered the Flores MBA Program to specialize in Finance and, since I am a huge sports fan, decided to add on a sports marketing specialization as well. I worked for the advertising/national sales department at Fox Sports in Dallas this summer. At Fox Sports, I analyzed MLB game ratings for national advertisers and created reports comparing actual ratings versus guaranteed ratings for the advertisers’ summer baseball campaigns. Being that I love sports, and was able to work with numbers, it was a great internship experience for me. Following my MBA, I would love to stay around Baton Rouge and begin a career in finance. Eventually, I want to be CFO of a local firm! In the meantime, I serve as the Vice President of Membership for NAWMBA and Red Cohort Leader for the MBAA, so I stay actively involved with MBA events… and of course LSU FOOTBALL!!!
