Meet Your MBA Colleagues

Jim Reid

Born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago, I am the youngest of three siblings…the only boy, I might add! I graduated from the University of Iowa in 2004, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Business Administration. While at Iowa, I was a member of the Iowa Baseball Team and served on the Executive Committee to the Iowa Student-Athlete Advisory Council for three years.

Prior to joining the LSU Academic Center for Student-Athletes staff as a Graduate Assistant this Fall, I served as a financial consultant to families, business owners, and professional and amateur athletes in Phoenix, Arizona for four years. I also own and operate a financial services entity that specializes in raising capital for various private equity and private placement opportunities. My future plans include combining my Flores MBA degree and work experiences with my passion for sports to become a leader in either Intercollegiate Athletics Administration or in the Sports & Entertainment industry.

As you all will learn, I enjoy being active in the community. I am entering my fourth year as a member of the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Committee and serve on the Board of Directors of the Fans Across America Charitable Foundation. I am also a proud member of the Arizona Diamondbacks Baseball Club, where I frequently serve the organization’s Outreach and Development Department as a Guest Coach and Youth Clinic Instructor. In Baton Rouge, I recently became involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. In my free time, I enjoy being with my wife, staying fit, and playing golf and basketball. GO HAWKS & GEAUX TIGERS!!!!
