MBAA NEWSLETTER - August 20, 2009
MBAA Newsletter

Greetings to our new first years, and welcome back to our returning second year students. We hope that you had a great summer and are looking forward to beginning class. In the unlikely event that you are not eagerly anticipating the upcoming classes, book purchases, and total academic immersion, the MBAA is here for you. We have several events planned to help you survive the transition back to school.

For those of you who are new to the program, you can expect these weekly newsletters to help keep you in-the-know of what's going on both inside and outside the classroom. We know that your email inboxes fill up quickly so we aim to keep these short and sweet by just providing the essentials. You can expect to find out the latest details about upcoming MBAA events, the dizzle on Practice of Business (POB) for the week, and a picture that violates at least one rule or protocol of the Flores MBA Program, LSU, Louisiana or physics itself.

If you have any questions, comments, cristicisms (constructive or otherwise) about the newsletters or funny/embarrassing pictures, please feel free to contact me at travis.rushing@gmail.com.

Tiki Tubing
Saturday, August 22, 10 am - 4:30 pm

We will go experience all that the fine province of Watson, LA has to offer: mostly brown sedimentary water, neon rubber tubes, and inebriated locals. Meet in the commuter parking lot directly across the street from Patrick F. Taylor Hall. We will board the bus at exactly 10 am and leave by 10:15, so don't be late! We should get there around 11 Guests may come for $10 each to help pay for their spot on the bus. We have been given $5 off coupons for everyone, but please bring cash or a credit card to pay for your tube. You may also bring any refreshments you would like. Please see their website if you have any questions- http://www.tikitubing.com Please RSVP so I can get a headcount and make sure we have enough room on the bus! Only the first 45 people to RSVP "yes" will be able to attend. We want to see a lot of first years out there! This is a great way to meet your fellow MBA's.

MBAA Dues
Please pay your dues or see Jose, Steven, or Andy. Dues are $200 for your two year membership.

Philanthropy
We are once again partnering with Boys Hope Girls Hope of Baton Rouge and Habitat for Humanity. Throughout the year, we will facilitate many different ways to get involved and give back to our community including donating toys and candy for children as well as volunteering to help build homes for families in need.

Recreation

Check back for more information on how you can get involved with intramural sports and show that the MBA domination doesn't end in the classroom. We're preparing for another killer season of flag football and soccer as well as expanding our athletic sovereignty into sand volleyball and tennis. We'll once again put the MBA in "look at 'eM BAllers."
