This week we will meet the MBA office and staff, discuss the rules/requirements for POB and DSS as well as notes for the rest of the Fall semester. You can also expect an appearance from some of our MBAA officers. Please dress in classroom attire. Also, attendance is mandatory.

Back to School Party
August 27, 7pm – 9pm
Fox and the Hound Pub

Join us at Fox & The Hound this Thursday to celebrate a successful first week of class! We have the back room rented out and will have pool tables as well as a tab for draft beer. There will also be appetizers provided courtesy of NAWMBA. *Guests may attend for $10 each.

 
Electives Database

Several staff members of the MBA office have worked hard on assembling a central list of possible electives that fit well with certain concentrations. This database can be found on the MBAA website on the MBAANET page. This list does not contain every possible elective or concentration possibility but is inteded to be used as an aid in planning your class schedules and concentrations.

 
Meet Your MBA Colleagues
On this new section of our website we give you the chance to learn more about your fellow MBA classmates. This week we feature Kristin Casey so make sure you check her bio by clicking here. Additional Electives

Two new electives are being offered for the fall semester.

BADM 7460, Section 2
Personal Branding (1.5 credits). The course helps students develop their presentation skills and learn how to communicate their ideas with conviction, control and poise—and without fear. Students gain the specific presentation skills and direction needed to become comfortable with their own style and in a variety of business situations. Taught by the ever popular Dr. Tommy Karam. The class meets Mondays, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. beginning on September 14 and meeting for 7 weeks. This class is open to both 1st and 2nd year students.

BADM 7600, Section 1
Consulting. Professor Mark Weaver is working with a couple of clients that might be good experiences for an MBA student. One is a duplication equipment and service company that want to double sales over 5 years and get new CEO and key staff.The second is a diesel manufacturer and rebuilder trying to expand from marine market and rebuild sales. A third is a hospitality training and consulting institute that needs a business plan and decisions on for profit or not/ and finally a worm jewelry manufacturer that wants to expand and go to more web sales and find exclusive outlets. This class meets on Mondays from 4:30-7:30 p.m. and is open to 2nd year students.

 
MBAA Dues
Please pay your dues or see Jose, Steven, or Andy. Dues are $200 for your two year membership. Last quarter MBAA dues were listed in the Wall Street Journal's Top 20 Best Return on Investments.
