Dinner Club
Specialization Focus: Finance
Tuesday, October 28th, 5:00 pm
Dr. Slawson just informed me that Dr. Ben Sopranzetti will be on LSU campus next Tuesday and that he would like to speak to the Flores MBA students. Dr. Sopranzetti is an Associate Professor of Finance and Economics at Rutgers. I thought this was too good to pass up. My apologies to all the PMBAs who have class at 6:00 pm.

Professor Ben Sopranzetti is an internationally renowned expert in the area of Valuation, Financial Strategy, and Investor Psychology. His most recent research interests lie primarily in the areas of Investment Banking and Emerging Financial Markets, especially China. If you would like more information on Dr. Sopranzetti, please click here.

This event is also open to the undergraduate finance students.

Spring Registration
Spring registration opens Sunday, October 26 at 5:00 p.m. The MBA Office will register your core classes for you Monday morning. Please do not register for electives or other courses until your core classes have been assigned. Also, do not remove yourself from your core classes once they have been added to your schedule. If you have any questions regarding the registration process please contact the MBA Office.

CFA Prep Class
The university currently offers Fin 7720, which is a prep course for the CFA exam. As the course is both very challenging and intense, you are required to register for the first level of the CFA exam in June in order to remain in the university course. The Finance Department also offers scholarships to cover much of the costs for the exam. For those of you interested in investment banking or financial analysts positions, or if you would just like to have your resume stand out, this would be a great opportunity.

Also, please be aware that there is a professional organization dedicated solely to those students - both graduate and undergrad - majoring/specializing in Finance: The Student Finance Association. In addition to bringing in professionals from various fields in finance, this group also has an annual trip to New York City. This trip would be a great tool for networking for those who are interested in moving to the Northeast or those who are interested in investment banking.

Flag Football
The men's team won their last two games and made the playoffs, congratulations!
