Professional Development

Jason Branch, the HR Manager for the Baton Rouge Exxon Mobil Plant, is facilitating a speaker from the Exxon Mobil Corporate Office to speak about Corporate Citizenship. Jason will also speak about HR employment opportunities at Exxon Mobil. Corporate Citizenship is a topic of major interest to MBA students and everyone is encouraged to attend.

We will provide dinner so arrive a little early.

Philanthropy
Volunteer Opportunity

The Sunshine Foundation is looking for 10 volunteers for its 7th
Annual "Sunshine for Kids" Gala at the Old Governor's Mansion downtown
on the evening of Tuesday, November 17th.  Volunteers will be
stationed at the Silent Auction portion of the event and will be
assisting with showing the items, making sure the guests are properly
bidding on the items (believe it or not, people will try to cheat),
and checking out the items at the end of the auction.  We will need to
be there at 5:30pm until about 9:45pm (including a break for a catered
dinner).  For second years, this will count as 4.5 bonus points for OB
class....for first years, it will count as a good deed =) Please email
Laney Joffrion at ljoffrion@gmail.com if you are interested in
attending.

Recreation

The Play-Off season is looking good for the MBA Ballers! The Volleyball team had a 2-0 win on Sunday night as they took on "Set to Kill" who is considering renaming their team to "Ready to Die." The Ballers advance to the next round where they will play "Jocks for Rocks/Team Geoclub." This puts them a mere 3 games away from the championship.

The football team also won this week with a 33-0 against the "Free Agents." An inside scoop revealed that the quarterback for this team is rumored to be going to play for Boise St. (currently ranked no.6 in the BCS) next year; for real. They advance to play "Capita Punishment" Thursday night. Good luck to everyone.
