MBA Night Out- Bogies
Sat, February 27, 7pm – 10pm

Where: Bogie's

Come out to Bogies for an open tab and a good time!

We'll have an open tab for well liquor, Bogies Bombs, Jager Bombs, and keg beer (until it runs out).

*FYI* We will have bracelets to pass out ahead of time, so that the bartender will know you are drinking on the MBA tab. You won't be able to drink on it unless you let us know ahead of time and get a bracelet. I'll pass out bracelets to some of the officers and cohort leaders early next week, but you need to get your bracelet ahead of time because I'm not planning on bringing any to the bar with me.

Recreation

Cheer for the MBA Ballers FC as they begin soccer playoffs this Sunday. The Ballers went an incredible 3-0 in the regular season.

For all those interested in playing indoor volleyball and softball:

Co-Rec Indoor Volleyball
  • Captain- Alex Goodwin
  • 6 v 6
  • Season starts March 10th
  • Games will either be on Sunday, Monday, or Wednesday nights
Softball
  • Captain- Steven Brown
  • Team will be co-rec if enough girls sign up
  • Season starts March 10th
  • Games will be on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday nights depending on Co-Rec or All Guys
See Steven Brown for sign up sheets in the MBA Office.  I really want to encourage girls to play in both leagues.  If there is a great demand for an All Guys softball team, we can make arrangements.

Golf Tournament

The newest versions of the sponsorship, donation, and registration forms are available on the Golf Tournament Website. Here is a note from Laney:

Hello everyone!

I hope you all are adjusting well to the Spring 2010 semester.

As you are aware, the MBA Charity Golf Tournament is scheduled for March 27th, only 2 months away!  We really really need your help with sponsorships--so here is the deal:  I'm asking each of you to try and get at least a hole sponsorship or a team sponsorship which is a $250 or $450 tax-deductible donation.  The perk of a team sponsorship is that there are 4 people to a team, so many businesses will sponsor and not even fill the team, allowing you and your friends to play for free!  We are having a hard time finding a Title Sponsor ($3000), so if you all could help round-up the holes/teams, me, Jose and the rest of the committee can focus on the big sponsorships!

Here are some ideas of who to ask:
Your current employer
Your family's businesses; Ex: my stepdad's law firm has committed to a hole sponsorship
Your friend's (or parents' friends businesses!)
Your internship/past employment
**Most companies have philanthropy budgets and you'd be surprised how willing they are to sponsor if you just ask!
Thank you in advance for your help and let me know of your successes!
