This Friday, September 12th: The Family Dinner
The Family Dinner, a Baton Rouge improv comedy group, will be performing at 9 pm at Perk's coffee house located on Perkin's Road. We'll meet at Zippy's on Perkin's at 7 pm for dinner and then head over to the show around 8:45 pm. $5 admission for the comedy performance (we're working on a group rate!).
This Saturday, September 13th: Tailgating
Pending the location of the game, if the game remains at home we will be tailgating on the parade grounds. $12/person including guests for food and beverages.

Next Wednesday, September 17th: Rally for Rachael Fundraiser
Buffalo Wild Wings (located on the corner of Perkins and Bluebonnet) agreed to donate 20% of their sales towards Tessa LeBlanc's team for the Light the Night organization. The event goes on all day, so please feel free to go anytime. We'll meet at the restaurant at 6:30 pm for anyone interested in helping support this cause together!

| MBAA Dues |
| All first years who have not paid their $200 MBAA dues, please do so as soon as possible. You can drop off a check in the MBA office or with any MBAA officer. |

| Mentor/Mentee Program |
Due to Hurricane Gustav, we made some modifications to our mentor/mentee program. The mentor/mentee groups will now be announced on September 18th during our “Goldmember” bowling night (please see the ‘Social Events’ section). We would really appreciate it if everyone could attend this social.
2nd-years - For those of you who have agreed to be mentors, we will have a brief meeting immediately following Friday’s POB to discuss and finalize the mentor/mentee groups. We will send out a separate email detailing our new plan.
1st-years - Please organize yourselves into groups of four (preferably co-ed) and email Chris Dean (cdean11@lsu.edu) the names of your group members before this Friday (September 12th). We will send out a separate email with more information. |

Boys Hope Girls Hope Charity Event
Time is running out!!! The Boys Hope Girls Hope Bowling Ball will be held on September 26 from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Tickets are $45 per person or $75 per couple. Light the Night
Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide evening walk to build awareness of blood cancers and raise funds for cures. This year’s walk will be held on Sunday, October 5th. Tessa LeBlanc (1st year MBA student) has organized a team to participate in the walk. Next Wednesday, September 17th, Buffalo Wild Wings will donate 20% of their sales towards Tessa’s team. We will meet at the restaurant at 6:30 pm to help support her team. You can also participate in the walk or purchase a T-shirt ($10) by emailing Melinda Rome at mrome1@lsu.edu by Monday, September 15th.
President's Volunteer Service Award:
This year, the MBAA will be participating in the President’s Volunteer Service Award program as a way to promote philanthropic involvement in our organization. Awards are given based on the cumulative number of hours volunteered by our members over a 12-month period. In order participate in the program, please contact Melinda Rome (mrome1@lsu.edu) prior to conducting your volunteer work to ensure that your charity is on the approved list. For more information on the President’s Volunteer Service Award, please visit their website.

‘Volunteer LSU’ still needs volunteers to assist people affected by Hurricane Gustav. | The personal branding/communications class taught by Dr. Tommy Karam still has lots of available space. The course number is BADM 7460, Section 1. You should be able to log onto PAWS and add the class until Thursday, September 11th. Due to hurricane Gustav, the first class meeting has been moved to Monday, September 15th. |
